I have a small family connection to Mexico but never knew them growing up, so I always had a disconnected relationship with the country and culture. Although, growing up surrounded by Mexican culture in Los Angeles, I was familiar with its traditions and community.
This is part of my reconnection. I now have family I am very close with, so I have been able to participate and learn more about this side of my background that I missed out on.
Through this project, I have been able to close that gap by visiting, interacting, and creating.
